Gloria Delson reviews Daniela's Work
Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts - August 2014
Daniela Schweitzer is another wonderful recent find in our Abstract Expressionist Circle. Generally more known for her figurative works, she began exploring figurative abstractions and recently segued into purely abstract paintings. The results are identifiably "Schweitzer": her hand is sure and recognizable in its confident, loose gestures, while her opaque and high contrast palette brings to mind Diebenkorn, Thiebaud, Manet & Matisse. As the artists states: “The balance between the composition and negative spaces along with textured, colorful layers of paint, and the freedom for energetic spontaneity, bring my story or emotion to life.” Perfectly said – gorgeous to behold. Daniela Schweitzer’s work will be on display at GDCA through August 31st – do not miss seeing these rich and vibrantly sensual paintings in person!
